Dawn Ottman lives in Shadehill, South Dakota.  She is a farmers wife and loves the country life.  Her husband, Bill is a 5th generation South Dakotan cattle farmer.  Dawn met Bill when she came to South Dakota to pay respect to her pioneering great-grandmother, Rebecca Buffington, who is buried on the old homestead property.

Besides having a wonderful husband, Dawn has three dogs and many cats along with horses and cows to keep her company.  So, she isn't exactly lonely out there on the prairie.  In fact, "being a farmer's wife and living in the country is the best kept secret," she says.  "The Dakotas are a beautiful place where fresh air and sunshine quietly enters one's soul all day long."

Dawn often jokes that she doesn't live in the middle of nowhere....but, you can see it from where she lives!  Having moved from Boston, Massachusetts and having lived in another large city (Phoenix, Arizona), after being raised in Toronto, Ontario in Canada, it is not surprising that Dawn found heaven on Earth in South Dakota.
